After the pause forced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Troupe Ensemble is back in service and presents, on May 12, 13 and 14 at the auditorium of La Samare High School in Plessisville, the work “L’ elixir du fondeur”.
Tickets are already on sale to attend one or another of the performances of this work for which forty young people from 3, 4 and 5 secondary school have been working since the beginning of the course.
For this return of the theater, an original text is presented, signed by Daniel Bédard, a high school teacher. Everything is directed by Mario Fortin, SASEC animator. The viewer will recognize the characters from the play Part tous les diables, by the same author, which was presented twice a few years ago.
This time, facing life’s challenges, they buy the elixir in an attempt to counter them. However, with this purchase, they find themselves in debt and thus caught by surprise. There will be several twists and turns. “This work also shows that we can be happy, despite the traps,” explains a student in the group.
The students spare no effort to make this play a great success. They have been meeting every week for months, separated into different committees (actors, dancers, singers, musicians, sets, communications), so that this theatrical project comes out perfectly.
We remember that in 2020 the play had to be canceled a few weeks before the planned performances due to COVID-19 and, last year, since extracurricular activities were prohibited, there was nothing on this side.
As time does its work, a dozen fewer young people contribute to the Troupe Ensemble, but those that remain are motivated and hard working. Of this number, only a few have already had the experience of the theater company.
Remember that Troupe Ensemble wants young people to discover themselves, grow through the performing arts and build self-esteem. Along this path, they are accompanied by adult facilitators who advise and encourage the young people on their journey.
The company benefits from the support of several donors, including the Troupe l’Éveil, which is closing its books and has decided to donate costumes and sets to the Troupe Ensemble. Therefore, a large number of people are invited to come and encourage these young people to carry out this great project that is close to their hearts.
