Lille students have put on an exhibition like no other at Hellemmes. From April 21 to 23, it will bring together sixteen young artists from the metropolis for no less than 180 works. Throughout the event, each piece will be purchasable. A raffle and a show auction are also on the program.
Just because you haven’t finished your studies doesn’t mean you can’t start working. Contemporary art student Margaux Mullenders from Lille has taken it on: the young she has decided to launch a project open to all, Vent’Art. Other colleagues of hers help her in the assembly of this exhibition.
For this reason, the team has developed an event that is half sale and half exhibition that will take place from April 21 to 23 in Hellemmes. “Le 48 lent us the ground floor and the first floor during the event“Says Yanet, the communications officer. Le 48 is an association that has a living space for cultural and artistic exchange, at 48 rue Roger-Salengro. All that was left was to fill the space for Margaux. “With our call for projects, we receive many requests.Janet continues. Sixteen artists were selected for 180 works.“And that makes it art.
An exhibition and sale like no other
All the artistic productions of the venue, as varied as they may be, will be for sale. They can be one euro cards or coins larger than 90 euros. But the team has more than one ace up its sleeve: the event will be more than an exhibition and sale, there will also be entertainment.
Some artists will perform at Vent’Art. You can count on piano singing on Thursday and Friday, for example, or cross-reading on Saturday. More visual, an artist will create a live drawing on the windows.
Friday at 5 pm will be the highlight of the show: the show auction. In fact, the only difference (in size) with the classic auction lies in the production of the work put up for sale, which will be done live a little earlier. “It is no longer just a deed of sale, so we can do without the auctioneer“, Specifies Yanet mischievously. The show will mix stencils, spray paint and canvases and will represent the silhouettes of the spectators present.
Vent’Art will set up an opening with a buffet on Thursday from 6 pm and a raffle for a modest euro for admission. The draw will take place on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. We can win some exhibited works. The icing on the cake? The expo-sale is open and free. It’s a gift.
The event will open its doors on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., then on Friday from 12 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 5:30 p.m. For more information, go to the Vent’Art Instagram account.
