What if you spend a great weekend at sea with Molière? This is an experience that is offered to you in Touquet-Paris-Plage (Pas de Calais), Saturday 23, Sunday 24 and Monday April 25, 2022. the festival of the performing arts of 17Y and 18Y centuries The baroque spring has some pleasant surprises for you…
enjoy the present moment
“Big business is pleasure”, Molière tells us in Lord of Pourceaugnac, created in Chambord in 1669. This invitation to enjoy the present moment is perfectly in line with the purpose of this Printemps Baroque. This year will be dedicated to Molière, the mentor of Vincent Tavernier, director and founder of the Cnamely and the Malins Plaisirs Festival in Montreuil-sur-Mer.
This special anniversary edition of the 400th anniversary of Molière’s birth is orchestrated by Les Malins Plaisirs, old masters in the art of restoring all the charm and subtlety of the French spirit. We recall with delight some magnificent editions of the Nuits Baroques du Touquet. Here they are, changing seasons and settling into spring, reminiscent of the awakening of the arts in harmony with that of nature.
Closing out spring break, this musical weekend is aimed at a wide audience of all ages. Because it is enough to remember the applause reserved by the young people mostly present in the room of the Municipal Theater of Tourcoing during the first [du] imaginary illness on April 7 last to realize that Molière can arouse the enthusiasm of young people to whom he always has things to say.
The Molière year celebrated with dignity
If Molière is part of our heritage, the truth is that, as Guillaume Gallienne, a member of the Comédie Française, points out: “Molière is our contemporary because he speaks of human passions that do not change, of monsters that adhere to us. (…) He has an absolutely timeless knowledge of our petty or magnificent passions. »
A great master of comedy combined with tragedy, Molière has created 33 creations, including 14 comedies-ballets in which he experiments with the relationship between theatre, music, song and dance. Three works are emblematic of this research, The Imaginary Invalid, The Forced Marriage Y Sicilian or pictorial love. What we seldom know is that forced marriagethat we will see in Le Touquet, is the second part of a triptych formed by the imaginary illness Y Sicilian love or painter.
With music by Lully
Molière signs the text and Lully the music. As for the completely crazy story of a 53-year-old Sganarelle who has taken it into his head to marry the young Dorimène, 35 years his junior, it offers Molière and Lully the opportunity to unleash their imaginations without losing . view of the fact that the public should have fun. And there, we are not disappointed!
The artistic direction of this little gem is in charge of Vincent Tavernier, the musical part of Hervé Niquet and his musicians from the Concert Spirituel. Marie-Geneviève Massé and the dancers of her Cnamely del Abanico lead the dance. And for the pleasure to be complete, go back in time to the 17th.Y century taking the Opérabus and enjoying a musical hall as the Sun King loved them. You will taste the music of the Gran Siècle in the company of the Harmonia Sacra ensemble.
