Good news for this real suspense and this immersion in the dark and threatening world of hackers that fascinated the two thousand seven hundred and four readers between the ages of 12 and 15 who participated in the fourth edition of the Victor Première Prize for children’s books initiated in memory . by Victor Van de Woestyne, lover of life and especially of reading, who passed away too soon, on November 4, 2016, at the age of 13. So that he would not go in vain, and to try to make sense of what he does not have, his parents, Patricia Vergauwen and Francis Van de Woestyne, imagined discovering or perpetuating their passion among young Belgian readers, and at the same time encouraging children’s literature and editorial of our country.
The prize has just been awarded during the Tendances Première program, presented by Véronique Thyberghien and Cédric Wautier, in the company, among others, of Patricia Vergauwen, Francis Van de Woestyne and Deborah Danblon (initiator of the Prize and literary columnist). The Belgian athlete Cynthia Bolingo, godmother of the project, was also present during the delivery of the 1,500-euro Prize offered by the Victor Fund (https://www.lefondsvictor.be) and a promotional campaign distributed by La Première on all its platforms. .

Readers were divided into 131 reading groups in schools, libraries and youth centers in Wallonia and Brussels. They all responded to the call launched in September 2021 by La Première (RTBF) and the Victor Fund. Throughout the school year, and despite a somewhat complicated start to the year due to the still unstable health situation, these groups benefited from entertainment by professional actors and actresses (theater, improvisation, reading aloud, etc. ) and meetings with authors, translators and editors. These meetings were organized and financed by the Victor Fund.
