Discover the History of Judaism in a different light… Here’s what Museum of Jewish Art and History on the occasion of the museum night 2022. From 6:00 p.m. to midnight, visitors and night owls are invited to stroll through the alleys of the museum, for free. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique history of this dogma, through the permanent collections of this establishment located in the 3rd district of Paris.
For more than 20 years, this museum housed in the magnificent hotel in Saint-Aignan, in the Swamp, collects and highlights works and archive of Jewish History in France. Today, the museum houses more than 12,000 worksand many files.
The Museum of Jewish Art and History offers a look at more than 2000 years of history Jewish communities in France, and also highlights modern artists. Rich and varied collections to discover during this 18th edition of the Night of the Museums.

- Marcel Proust. on the mother’s side

The exhibition “Marcel Proust, from the mother’s side” is the first event in France to present the writer through the prism of his Judaism. Organized on the occasion of the centenary of his death, this exploration highlights an important axis of the construction of his personality and his work, his family ties, his sociability, his commitments. You will find among the 150 works on display, one of Proust’s favorite painters, Claude Monet, along with Edouard Vuillard, Gustave Caillebotte, Antoine Coypel and Gentile Bellini or Robert Mapplethorpe.
