Master’s students at work
This fifth edition, like the previous ones, is directed by students of Master 2 “event and digital communication” of the Institute of Business Administration (IAE) of Orleans. Let’s redo the introductions.
Or better let Maël Le Goff, one of the two project managers, take care of it: “It is a festival of street art, educated in urban culture, both at an artistic, sports and musical level”, sums up the student, who with 22 of her classmates, supervised by two people from CO2 Event (from Saint-Jean-le-Blanc) is in charge of this heavy project. Which benefits from the support of the Orléans city council.
The students began work on the event in September 2021. With the Covid Damocles sword still hovering not far above their heads. It seems that now it has moved away a bit… although, beware, in this area the forecasts are usually more ephemeral than a label on the wall in the center of a city.
Music, breakdance, basketball…
in details, seven street art artists (graffiti, illustrators, designers, painters, etc.) will be there and officiate throughout the day at the Place du Martroi. On walls or… on a truck.
The names of Opéra, Boku, Sintez, Dark Graffiti Home and Licea have already been communicated by the organizers, including the crowdfunding campaign on the Internet allowed to recover 1,100 euros.
Around them, artistic routes will be offered throughout the day. Stands will also be set up: we can do serigraphy, take a music composition or text writing workshopor learn to beatbox.
Sports lovers will be in for a treat too, with breakdancing performances (featuring Moon Runnerz and DJ Redbull) and basketball performances (featuring Barjots Dunkers). About fifteen riders will also share their talents.
“like a town”
“It will be like a town, family, with activities also dedicated to children. Come what time it comes, there will be plenty to see,” smiles Ketsia Grenier, communications manager for Roads.
The day will end with a beat box show (with Orléans Beatbox) from 4:40 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., followed by a concert, between 5:20 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., by Lhiroyd from Orleans. An ending in “afro pop” mode, and in apotheosis we await. Then, at 7:00 p.m., the Martroi will resume its daily form…
