We are going to Brussels for a visit of our architectural heritage: The Palace of Justice.

After 20 years of being closed to the public, it can be revisited. With its 40,000 square meters designed by Joseph Poelaert in 1862, the palace is one of the largest courthouses in the world. Gigantic, this colossus is bigger than St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The most beautiful panoramic view of Brussels can also be obtained from Place Poelaert, located at the main entrance of the Palace. If the exterior surprises, the interior makes a visit to the building definitely worthwhile. Its entrance hall, more than 100 meters high, is absolutely striking, there are more than 250 rooms, including 27 impressive courtrooms. The building has two floors and a basement, and all spaces are open to the public. The palace reopens its doors to visitors for a series of guided tours in French, Dutch and English. Thirteen euros for a visit of about an hour and a half. Reservation essential arkadia.be.
