Former Dances With Wolves actor accused of sexual assault

(Calgary) A former film actor he dances with the wolves he will be charged with sexually assaulting girls as young as 13 and marrying girls as young as 15.

Nathan Lee Chasing Horse, also known as Nathan Chasing His Horse, born on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, was arrested near Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Las Vegas police allege the sexual assaults spanned two decades and occurred in the United States and Canada.

Chasing Horse is due in court in North Las Vegas on Thursday.

The arrest of Mr. Chasing Horse, 46, follows a months-long investigation that began after the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police received a tip in October 2022.

Court documents show he should be charged with at least two counts of sex trafficking and one count of sexual assault of a girl under 16, child abuse or neglect, and sexual assault.

The Associated Press obtained the search warrant in Las Vegas, alleging that Chasing Horse shared a home with his five wives and was the leader of a cult known as The circle.

According to the news agency, Las Vegas police said in the document that they had identified at least six alleged victims and traced sexual allegations against Chasing Horse dating back to the early 2000s in several US states.

According to the search warrant, he was barred from the reservation in Fort Peck, Montana, in 2015 following allegations of human trafficking.

“Nathan Chasing Horse has used spiritual traditions and his belief system as a tool to sexually assault girls on numerous occasions,” the AP writes, citing investigators who completed the court order.
